I’d say 4.5 stars is more realistic for me, but I know that there was a lot of depth in this story that I wasn’t able to fully appreciate due to not getting to read this book in long sittings. I loved the parallels drawn between the characters despite their very different (yet similar) situations. I appreciated how unique this story was in terms of not ever really knowing what kind of category it should even fall under.

Due to the apparent commentary on how the world is set to progress and its seeming likeness to current climate, I think I found this book difficult to want to read. Generally I want fully an escape into fantasy land or a deep take on the struggles and history of the present. I simply wasn’t in the mindset to have both while reading, so it was hard for me to really sit and let this sink in as much as I know it deserved. I’ll probably be thinking about it for awhile.

4.25 Stars! Whewwww, I’m going to be thinking about this book for a while. In the best of ways.

It’s not a happy ending, but it is? All throughout I felt a little like I wasn’t smart enough to be reading this book, but I still enjoyed it immensely every step of the story. Those last 75 pages were intense and a little mind-bending. What a unique take on time travel. I did not expect the reveals, like at all. I did not think the plot was predictable at all, which is so refreshing.

Charming and funny moments throughout, really great character building. Slow burn.

“Of course I loved you.” 🥹😭🫠
