Our first foray into Dramione fan fiction and we were absolutely floored. This book is so well written it's easy to forget it isn't Harry Potter canon. And for us, we honestly feel like it's a much more realistic picture of what would have happened if Voldemort existed in the real world. There is some dark content, especially in part 1, so check your trigger warnings!
This is a whimsical dreamscape of a book—the world depicted in Water Moon is gorgeous and complex. For how much whimsy and silliness this book had, it also contained so much depth. The conversation on choices and regrets and the ways in which they shape your being was done masterfully.
Time Travelers Wife meets Post WWII England meets 1700 Scottish Highlands.
4.5 stars! This duology wraps up everything with a perfect little bow. I’m deducting .5 stars for predictability, but I definitely was pleasantly surprised with a few things I did not see coming in this one.
5 stars for a Young Adult novel. I flip flop between 4 and 4.5 stars for me.
3.75 stars rounded up. Slight spoliers ahead, so read at your own risk!
This series includes the Assassin's Apprentice, Royal Assassin and Assassin's Quest. Some original concepts and very interesting magic! Deep character development, but overall unsatisfying.
