3.75 rounded up for me. I’m certainly intrigued and will likely continue listening! I love that the dramatized audio are all on Hoopla. If they weren’t, I don’t know that I would continue reading—honestly I’d probably switch over to the show.

For a novella to really be a knock out for me I really need to be taken on a journey in the short time I have with the book. This one delivered a high stakes scenario, which made me care about the characters quickly. And it also delivered just enough build up and mystery that made me go borrow the second book right away.

I didn’t have much other emotion connection with this one other than feeling like it was a great introduction to the series. So we’ll see how it goes as I continue!

I’ll say 3.5, but round down. It just wasn’t for me? I think I struggle with what I want out of novellas in general. This just didn’t really get me to a point of character connection I was hoping for.
